Jeffrey P. Hendricks, M.D.

Dr. Hendricks joined our practice in January 2004. His academic background includes an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a medical degree from Michigan State University School of Medicine. During his days at U of M, Dr. Hendricks spent four years in an in-depth study in the field of genetics. His career during residency took a unique turn from the study of genetics to the practice of emergency medicine in Brooklyn, NY. As an emergency resident in some of New York’s toughest neighborhoods, Dr. Hendricks saw a great deal of trauma including motor vehicle accidents, gun shot wounds, and other serious injuries.

His interest in joining the Born Preventive Health Care Clinic stems from an externship Dr. Hendricks experienced as a fellow for the National Institute of Health (NIH) laboratory in the study of nutritional biochemistry. “This part of my background has spurred my interest in a life-long study of nutrition and its effect on the body,” says Hendricks. Dr. Hendricks most recently served as a staff physician at an occupational health clinic in South Haven. It was during his tenure there that an associate within the nutritional health industry introduced him to Dr. Tammy Born. “I had the opportunity to shadow Tammy during her rounds with patients on multiple occasions, and it was during that time I realized she and I have very similar philosophies for treating patients. When she offered me the opportunity to come on board full time it seemed like a natural fit,” said Dr. Hendricks.

Dr. Hendricks makes his home in the Grandville area with his wife Fiona and their  daughter, Chloe.
